I know that most, if not all of you reading this are confused at why I am posting this as if you are beginner bloggers who don't know what a blog is (how can you be a blogger if you don't know what a blog is?)
I'm actually here to refresh your memory. Watch the short clip below on simply what a blog is.
Did you see how short that was? Yes, less than 5 seconds.
But, what does this mean? What does web log mean?
Web means - Web refers to the World Wide Web, in this structure.
What does World Wide Web mean?
computing WWW a vast network of linked hypertext files, stored on computers throughout the world, that can provide a computer user with information on a huge variety of subjects-Taken from Dictionary.com
But what does that mean in English? Here's my definition:
A world of storage, communication, and more. There's just nobody living in Cyberspace, also called the world wide web. And, what is a log?
to enter in a log; compile; amass; keep a record of: to log a day's events.-Taken from Dictionary.com
A log is a place to record things, or as a verb, writing something down for record. Generally, logs require a notebook, which is the storage aspect of it.
And, when you add web to that, it's a log stored on the web.
Now, you telll me:
Does is say ANYTHING about having many people read your log? NO.
Does it say anything about making money from blogs? NO.
Does it say merely a place to record information? YES.
And this is why you should continue blogging, or change up your blog. A blog is not for making money or to become famous, just like books. There are personal books that people want to keep to themselves or their friend, and there are books where people tell other people information that the author wants to share. Can you make an income from books/blogs? Yes. Can you become famous through books/blogs? Yes. These things are additions to blogging, it's not required.
Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying you should quit your marketing, those add-ons could be motivation to keep going. But how will you get that motivation if you don't keep trying?
Let's try something. Go to your blog, in a new tab, or window, or something. Look at your FeedCount (or go to your subscription service and look at the number of people subscribed to you). These people, no matter the number, count on you to KEEP ON BLOGGING. There's somebody, around the world who goes to their e-mail or blog reader, or even your website, and reads (or skims) the post you just made. The knowledge you have goes to them.
That is blogging. When anyone in the world wide we reads your information and learns something new. Whether it's your choice for political candidate or how to hotwire a car, they learned something (even if it is illegal..). That is what blogging is supposed to be, sharing information. But, it's become a corrupt form of online scammers, with many honest people still out there looking to earn a few extra bucks or to be talked about.
